You know that feeling, when your heart swells about 4 times its normal size and you feel like you are going to laugh and cry at the same time. Well that’s me today!
But it’s not something that my wonderful, amazing boys did, or my incredibly talented husband did, it’s what our book did, for a four year old child.
Yesterday I did one of my “Monster Spray” Workshops at a forward thinking, incredible daycare here on the Gold Coast for a Pre Kindy class.
Nothing out of the ordinary happened. It was fun, interactive with lots of laughs and we made the monster spray recipe as per normal.
Today I got the most wonderful hug and account of events that happened for this family last night. This beautiful Mum, credits our book and spray for solving a major issue in their house, for their very special little boy.
The issue was that their son could not do number two’s. You know on the toilet.
This for anyone is a very major issue but especially when you are four it’s a much bigger health issue than normal. They had been to the Doctors thinking there were other issues at play, but nothing helped. He would simply not go!
After the workshop, all the kids get to take their monster spray home with them. As usual, Mum collected this little guy, but yesterday he had something different, he had an ally, he had monster spray in his hands. When they got home that little guy ran inside & the first thing he did was race to the toilet and spray the toilet with monster spray. His bewildered Mum asked “why did you spray the toilet with the spray?” The little boy replied “there is a monster in there that will bite me and drag me down there, but not now, I’ve sprayed him and he’s gone now!” Very calmly after that, to his families amazement, he got on the toilet and did his business.
I am so excited and proud that our book and workshop, helps kids in so many different ways. With some it’s fear of: Going to sleep, the dark, new places and now my favorite fear of the toilet. This works by giving the child something that will protect them, banishing the monsters and allowing the child and parent to open a conversation about, what it is that scares them and where the monsters live.
If your child has any issues with toileting, the dark, new places etc please give our book or workshop or both a go.
You might be surprised with the outcome.
